A heartfelt thanks also goes out to all of our amazing volunteers, who helped the Foundation put this event together:

  • CarolinaEast Health System Employees, Foundation Board Members, New Bern High School Junior Civitans and West Craven High School National Honor Society, as well as family and friends, who helped set up and worked the various stations.
  • The families of the Epiphany School of Global Studies, who made gingerbread houses for each table and assisted with the Polar Express.
  • The Craven County Extension's Sewing Guild, who made handcrafted ornaments for each child to take home.
  • Monarch's Vocational Day Program for making our reindeer bags.
  • A special thank you goes out, of course, to Santa and Mrs. Claus!

Craven Cancer Classic

October 17, 2020

Craven Cancer Classic website

Craven Cancer ClassicThe annual Craven Cancer Classic golf tournament is held each year at the New Bern Golf & Country Club, to remember and honor those battling cancer. The proceeds go to support the Scott Davenport/Brian Fisher/John Aylward Cancer Warrior Fund that assists patients with cancer care-related costs.

There are many hardships that come with battling cancer. Through the annual Craven Cancer Classic golf tournament fundraising event, all of the dollars raised stay local and go directly to the Scott Davenport/Brian Fisher/John Aylward Cancer Warrior Fund at the CarolinaEast Foundation. This fund helps cancer patients with various financial burdens associated with their treatment, and assists eligible patients with care-related costs such as transportation, medical equipment, nutritional supplements, prosthetics, and lodging for themselves or family members during out-of-town treatment.
