CarolinaEast Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is also referred to as physiatry. This medical specialty is the diagnosis, evaluation and management of injury, pain, physical disability and behavioral and thinking problems in persons of all ages.  Comprehensive physical exams are used to find the cause of symptoms, even when standard tests reveal no specific problem. Most importantly, the physiatrist treats the whole person, not just the symptoms. The goal is to increase function and improve the quality of life for our patients.
