Eating Healthy Easy and Economical at CarolinaEast
CarolinaEast was recently named a “Red Apple” hospital by the North Carolina Prevention Partners. This designation recognizes hospitals across the state that have developed, promoted and sustained a healthy food environment for employees and guests. We accomplish this by making healthy food choices readily available, use pricing strategies to encourage healthy eating and provide employee benefits and incentives to promote healthy behavior among our employees. CarolinaEast is one of only 48 hospitals across the state that has implemented all the required principles to achieve a Healthy Food Environment and has an action plan for continuous improvement.
