The Women's Center at CarolinaEast Health System is designed to meet the unique health needs of women. Gynecological care includes outpatient diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as well as complex laser surgery. Obstetrical care from The Family Birthplace is modern and customized to the mother's needs. We offer labor, delivery and initial recovery in an home-like room. Infants may "room-in" with their mother or receive their first dose of quality health care in a modern nursery with intermediate care capabilities.
Expectant families are invited to attend our monthly Maternity Open House held on the second Monday of the month at 7:00 p.m. in our Education Building.
A dedicated Maternal/Child Health Educator insures that the new and growing family is comfortable and confident in caring for their newest member.
Childbirth Education classes, offered free of charge, focus on Prepared Childbirth, Breastfeeding and Infant CPR. For more information about these classes, please call 252-633-8160.
When the day arrives, wives of deployed active duty military in select combat locations can share the magic of birth through the Freedom Calls satellite connection. To date, CarolinaEast Health System has facilitated over 30 Freedom Calls linking families together when they are thousands of miles apart.
