How do I apply?

Click on the Career Center link at the top of the page. There will be a link to view current job postings. You will select a category (professional, nursing, allied health, information systems, support services or administrative/clerical) and click on search. You can then apply by clicking on the job title.

Do I have to have an email address to apply?

CarolinaEast does not require that you have an active email account to apply, however this cannot be left blank on the application. Please put “no email” in this field.

Will my application be saved if I don’t complete it?

You will have the option to click “save” on the right side of the application page. Do this before you exit and it will allow you to enter your username and password and finish the application when you’re ready to do so. The application will not be submitted for consideration until it is complete. .

What if I want to apply to more than one position or another position at a later date?

By registering as a user in our application system, you can easily return to the system and enter your username and password to access your most recent application. This will allow you to apply for multiple positions or for a position at a later date. You will also be able to make changes, if needed, and resubmit the application for a new position.

Can I mail or fax a resume?

Some candidates opt to bring a formal copy with them to the interview. Because of the volume of application, it is difficult to match up faxed or mailed resumes to on-line applications. We do not accept paper applications, however we are happy to assist you on one of our computers in the HR lobby if you need assistance.

What is the process once my application has been submitted?

You should immediately receive a pop-up message stating that the application has been submitted. Also, if you have an active email account, you will receive an email notification to the same effect. The recruiter responsible for the position will review the application. If you meet all of the minimum requirements, the application will be forwarded to the hiring manager or director. If an interview is requested, the recruiter will be in contact with you to schedule. Because of the volume of applications received, we cannot contact everyone regarding the status of the application. If you’ve received the notifications that your application has been received, please know you are being considered.

How long will my application stay on file?

Your on-line application is retained indefinitely, however we do require an individual application for each position. Your username and password make it possible to pull up your old information, make changes and updates if necessary and re-submit to the new position.

How will I know the status of a position?

CarolinaEast Health System receives a high volume of applications daily. We’re so glad you have an interest in employment with us but cannot contact each applicant. You will receive fair consideration for the position and if you are selected for an interview you will be contacted via phone or email to schedule.

Is there a closing date for the positions?

The positions are kept open until filled and do not have specific closing dates. If they are still posted on the website, then they are still open. There may be times when the position is pending being filled, and as soon as the hiring process is complete, it will be removed from the website.

Can I submit a general application in case something comes available?

We do not have a link to a general application. The website has all of our current openings. If you do not see something that you qualify for, then we ask that you utilize the job agent tool on the Careers page. This tool allows you to choose a job title or titles and enter your email address. If the job that correlates with the title or titles you’ve chosen posts, then an email will be generated to you letting you know. This makes sure you never miss an opportunity!

Why was I not selected for an interview of a position?

CarolinaEast Health System receives a high volume of applications, often making it very competitive. We choose the candidates who most closely match minimum requirements of the job. After the interview process, the manager determines the candidate that is the best fit for the department.

How old do I have to be to work at CarolinaEast?

You do have to be at least 18 years of age to be employed at CarolinaEast Health System in most areas. However, you only have to be at least 16 years of age with a valid work permit for positions in Food Service.

Would having a criminal record keep me from being employed at CarolinaEast?

Our hiring criteria regarding a criminal record is specific. Automatic bars from employment include: -Any felony conviction within the last seven years. -Release from a correctional institution or release on parole or probation subsequent to any misdemeanor or felony conviction within the last two years, irrespective of when the conviction occurred; -Any misdemeanor or felony conviction for sex offense(s), violent crime(s), or robbery, irrespective of when convicted; -Any misdemeanor conviction for illegal possession and/or trafficking of controlled or illegal substances within the last seven years; and -Any misdemeanor conviction for embezzlement, larceny or related charges within the previous seven years (for any employee whose position would require the handling of funds and/or accounts, patient property, etc.). We do require that you list any convictions (regardless of when they took place) on your application and background check form. If you do not, this is considered falsification of application and you would not be considered, although you’re welcome to re-apply after one year.

Where is Human Resources located?

The Human Resources office is not located in the main hospital building. We are in a one-story brick building directly behind the main hospital building. Take the West Entrance (located by Express Care) and follow the signs to Human Resources.
